PRESS RELEASE

brother announces its first UK Creative Residency Programme, with photographer Thomas Minnock in residence

A 2026 residency at Camber Sands exploring landscape, creative process and the environment around us.

London, 11/09/2026 - brother The Charity is excited to announce photographer Thomas Minnock as the first resident of its UK Creative Residencies programme. Taking place at Camber Sands, the residency takes landscape as its starting point, with photography as the core medium through which Thomas will explore the environment and develop new work.

The residency offers time and space to focus on the creative process, without the pressure of a predetermined outcome. It is an opportunity to observe, experiment and explore, allowing the work to develop through the process rather than working towards a defined end result.

brother’s partnership with The Beach Bungalow, UK, a strand of ‘The Creative Hub France’, provides a base for our first Landscape Residency at Camber Sands.

Each brother residency is curated with the environment as the starting point, considering how place can shape the creative process and experience. At Camber Sands, the tide, weather and changing light create a constantly shifting environment, offering opportunities for observation, experimentation and inspiration.

The setting becomes part of the residency itself, providing time and space to observe, respond without the pressure of a predetermined outcome.

Representative from The Creative Hub said:
“We’re really delighted to be supporting this partnership and excited for it to grow”.

brother’s residency programme has continued to evolve through different artists, places and creative approaches. Following its previous international residency in France with artist Cameron J Laing, the 2026 residency at Camber Sands marks brother’s first UK Artist in Residence programme.
